I learned a little about dream psychology from a friend of mine recently, and one thing I learned was that places are extremely important in dreams. The nature of your surroundings apparently can say a lot about your hidden fears. I find it interesting that your setting was largely old, dirty, falling apart, and even dangerous. Perhaps you feel like your life is deteriorating like the buildings in your dream were all deteriorating, and you are afraid of what may push through the breach and bring you down. posted by: SparklingSnow (reply) post date: 06.28.05 (9:40 am) Reply to: newbie39 yikes! but that's interesting. Dreams always interest me. Lately, my dreams have involved people I've known (in real life, half of the time) that I am not excited to share with others, and it's been other important people to me finding out, me being in the middle, but not really wanting to know the past people, either. posted by: newbie39 (reply) post date: 06.28.05 (12:42 pm) Maybe you could run that by me again? :S I'm a little confused. . . . But yes, dreams can be very fascinating! I believe they do say something about our "repressed" feelings (ones we tend to suppress out of fear). Of course, I don't buy into any Freudian theory or anything like that, though. But unlike some people, I don't think dreams are meaningless. I have had a lot of strange dreams lately, too. Maybe we should all start an online dream group where we can journal about our dreams. I would find that to be very fascinating! It's one of those things that would never do unless someone did it with me, though. posted by: newbie39 (reply) post date: 06.28.05 (12:44 pm) p.s. If I read your last comment correctly, it sounds like you are haviong a mid-life crisis! |
