millions of peaches

The snow collects the good with the bad, as can be seen when it melts. This blog is my snow, holding onto my experiences.

millions of peaches
07.20.04 (11:33 pm)   [edit]
our (my family's) peach trees are getting weighed down with peaches!! great news! I can't think of something I like much more than a fresh peach off the tree. They're early this season, seeing that they're always ready for my birthday (less than 3 weeks away) but I'm ready for them- hoping that some stay around to celebrate with me. If you're able, I recommend growing food in your backyard or porch. Flowers are beautiful and very fulfilling, but food is more practical. even herbs, like basil. Fresh corn on the cob is unbeatable, as are many other vegetables and fruits that may not take much coaching or effort to produce- just perhaps space and time, and weather. If planting your own garden works, local farmers markets can be great!! I've tried them in at least 3 states, and they all have been excellent- much better than the shipped foods from teh grocer's. But some fruit, like the awesome mango I had tonight, can only be bought from some other state or country, which is quite all right, and gets cheers for diversity! If you've never tried a mango, or had a bad experience w/ one, I recommend giving it a try, perhaps in a fruit salad w/ plums and nectarines (a combination that tastes fabulous to me, and is recommended by many on the internet). What other ways are mangoes enjoyable?

I don't really like mangoes. But ya know what? Just for you I am going to try a mango again some day. And yes aaron, you can wear them as a hat, as you (personally) can wear anything as a hat.

great site by the way.

thanks, Grant! I hope you find the mango more enjoyable when you try it again!

and this is my first website, so I'm glad you like it.

is anyone singing the song? the 'millions of peaches' song? the last time i heard it on the radio was in junior high.

the first time I heard that song was in college, actually. Ed downloaded the music video, which I enjoyed because it had ninjas in it (I think?)

However, for some reason the song always reminds me of canned peaches, which don't even belong to the same universe as fresh ones.
