Miserables

The snow collects the good with the bad, as can be seen when it melts. This blog is my snow, holding onto my experiences.

Miserables
12.09.04 (8:54 pm)   [edit]

my nails gleam red as I type this.  twelve hours from now, my parents will pull up to campus to hang out with me, or at least to see me accomplish all of these years of schooling.  a BA in TEFL- and the end of schooling for me, at least for now.  I don't mind continuing, but for this period of time, it marks an end of the classroom.  hurray!!  I've found a place to stay before Christmas.  It's with a cool friend kind of out in the country- she said something about dear.  She also talked about how wonderful it will be for solitude before I asked if I could join.  She was looking for a car, so I think it all works out.
I can't think of an 'on the road' song- the closest I can come up w/ is 'On My Own' as in Les Miserables.  But I don't feel all alone!!  It will be so much fun to road trip w/ Aaron in January!! Here's to safe passage: :!:

ABC has a posting of the top 50 "road trip songs." Some are classics, some you can definitely live without, and some are just fun fun fun!
They are not necessarily songs about road trips, but songs that are fun to listen to while driving.
There is definitely a lack of faith-based songs on the list. I would include Creed, Jars of Clay, and worship music on a road trip.
Enjoy!

Cool. Thanks, Hope!
I could definitely imagine some of those songs on the speakers, and Aaron and I tired but happily (if not dramatically) singing along!
And I agree about Jars of Clay, Creed, and worship music. In fact, those are included in the tapes I've made of some CDs- also 12 Stones, Benjamin Gate (great for the road) and Amy Grant Christmas and others.

ooh- Michael W- yeah- I don't know if I've heard the whole thing, but I recognize some of the songs, especially a high-pitched one w/ kids- and I wish I had it to play!
My favorite song on the Amy Grant Chritsmas one is that song for Mary, and it's solemn, and I think I've shared it with you, right? I do agree that there are better Christmas CDs out there- I get annoyed at it, but it's what I have, and I can't find the Nutcracker (it has to be somewhere!)
