must be the air

The snow collects the good with the bad, as can be seen when it melts. This blog is my snow, holding onto my experiences.

must be the air
12.28.04 (2:35 pm)   [edit]
Today must be the day to show up! It's Tuesday, and semi-active outside- nothing like pre-Christmas, and I was out about 10-3 running errands, and I couldn't get over the number of people I recognized!! This type of thing didn't happen in Minneapolis!! Maybe 'cause there are less malls here? Hmmm. . . it started w/ someone's mom, who I kind of fumbled w/. I was peeping out of the dressing room when I saw her, and I think she recognized me, but I just stared and went back to my room. Then, I decided to go say hi, and she was gone. I felt like a snob. At the check out was a girl (lady) who's gone to church w/ me and who's birthday is on my half-birthday, and then at another place (another mall, actually), I was making a beeline for a store, 'cause people seemed especially pokey, and someone called my name from 2 yards away- a friend I hadn't seen in a few years- I guess more of an aquaintance, 'cause he's cool, but we only hung out w/ a middle person- anyways, he's doing great, and we chit chatted. Then, as I was heading out of the mall, I glanced in a store, and one of my jr high friends was working there (was busy), and the store next door held a girl I've gone to school w/ (a few years younger) and then when I picked up film, I recognized a kid my brother's age, and as I was leaving the parking lot, I swear a freshman at North Central drove by. It's quite possible it was her, since a group from 1st Assembly of Kenosha goes to NCU. Anyways, I don't know what's up w/ today, but I've been praying for every one of those people, and wondering why God has timed things in such a way!

Wow, sounds like Kenosha needs to get someplace besides the mall to hang out.

And you celebrate half birthdays? I have trouble remembering one a year.

A couple unrelated questions:

Has it hit you yet that you will probably never go back to school again? I'll never forget my freshman year, when we all hung out, blue dave almost climbed that tower by the U, etc. So much has changed since then, and it's hard to believe it's been that long already. Still Feels practically like yesterday. Everything had an enchanted feel to it that semester, like the world was waiting for me to discover it. I liked that feeling, and sometimes I miss it.

Question #2: How much do you wanna bet that Jon never updates his blog? I've been betting with Hope since 3 days after he created it that it would be one of his middle-of-the-night whims that he totally forgets about. That's one of those things about Jon, though, that make me love the guy.

Man, I'm at that point in vacation where I'm really starting to miss friends!

Grr. . I wrote out a long respinse the other day when tblog decided to work on their site. I've gathered enough patience to try again.
Kenosha has a lot of places to go and things to do. The cold is what drives everyone inside, whether in a store, or at home.
Our family celebrates half-birthdays. IT merits an e-card, or something small. I don't remember getting anything besides socks. But cool Snoopy socks! Exciting. Maybe we do it 'cause there's only 4 of us, and all our birthdays are between June and September?
I'm still kind of in denial about not returning to school. Stopping by in 9 days sounds good to me. I know the next day we'll move on to the next state, but even with all of the cleaning and packing I've done, it won't be the most real until it happens. The school year I met you and Hope seems like generations ago. I can't believe I went to school (college) for nearly two years before coming to NorthCentral!! Am I 80? My past, my own life, seems like a movie or a book to me already. These memories, these feelings, somehow don't seem like mine, until I share them with some one who was not there. Or some one that was, depending. A lot of times, it feels like I've dreamt a lot up. I did enjoy my life, and feel like I'm a very different person, yet a familiar one now.
About Jon: I hope he updates! I know it was important to him- a good way to vent, keep in touch, etc., so I hope to see a new subject line when I upload his page soon! But even if he never does, I hope he does some kind of journal for his own sake.

Yeah, that semester (my first one at NCU) seems like a long time ago. Hard to believe it's only been 2 years. Hard to believe that you would have been in the same semester then that I was in last semester. I think I feel older than I should, based on that.

That's cool that your family celebrates half birthdays. No, you're not 80, but I know what you mean! How will we feel when we ARE 80 if this is how we feel at 20? Lol!
