a few of my favorite things

The snow collects the good with the bad, as can be seen when it melts. This blog is my snow, holding onto my experiences.

a few of my favorite things
02.10.05 (10:25 am)   [edit]

The blog transformation is still in the works, but I've settled on the header as such.  it combines two of Van Gogh's works- the major one being the background w/ a huge lilac bush, and the other, a vase full of irises, placed over the planted irises in his garden.  It is glowing behind the irises because the bush was yellowish/orange, as was the paint behind the iris vase, so I merged them.  What does any of it have to do w/ snow?  It's very possible that at some point, the garden was all snowed over, and that since then, the bits and pieces the snow's collected are found even among the garden.  I'm off to tutor now, but will work on the color scheme of the remainder of the blog before too long now.  What do you think of the new header?
By the way, irises and lilacs are my favorite flowers- so that's why it was so exciting to play around w/ images of them.

The header is creative, but you definitely need to do some major revision to the rest of the design for it to work well. (And the title is really hard to see.) Hope serves as one example of how to redesign the right way! When I first saw the header she picked, I didn't think she could do it, but she made it turn out awesome! Hopefully you can do the same.

hmm- now the page seems too busy (w/ me in the background) but i like the purple, and I'm out the door, so I'll leave it as such for now.

Perhaps you should change your name to "things that collect snow."

And the background photo concept is hideous. No offesnse.

You'll get the colors down :) good luck.Try some deep, terrific blues in your background behind your text. As for my page, I just got lucky, Chuck :)

Liking the black, but you still need to change the purple. But I'm liking the black!

it's actually a deep green- and I wish I could customize a color, but for now I'm sticking w/ this dark scheme.
Hope- thanks for the encouragement!

It seems too dark now. I like the deep green better than the actual black.

Plus, it's impossible now to read the old posts where you had black text.

I love the colors now. They remind me of a lush forest bed with moss and quiet crickets chirping! Hmm, I guess I just really need spring to be here!

OOPs, that was me commenting about the lush forest bed. It looks good enough for me to curl up on and take a nap. Wish I could!
