cupid found me
02.14.05 (1:49 pm)   [edit]
Aaron and I started Valentine's early this year.  We're both working and he has classes 'til 4, so he took over the 13th, and I, the 14th.  Immediately after church (we didn't even help tear down!) He stole me away, and we drove for a while, and ended up in Balboa Park in San Diego.  It's my first time in that beautiful city, and I had a blast!  The park was preserved back in the 1800s, and served as the site for an exposition on Panama in 1915, so a lot of buildings date back until then, and it's a cool place to visit.  We went on a walk w/ a ranger, into a botanical garden, a history museum, and later in the night, dancing.  I think we were learning the cha cha.  Dancing can be fun, but I'm not good at it, and have a hard time getting the rhythm, so I think it will be a while before I get past what I'm supposed to do and really enjoy it.  We also went to Monsoon, and Indian restaurant in downtown San Diego, and it rocked!! So terrific! and mango mousse for dessert!  Anyways, I'm on lunch, and need to get back to tutoring soon, but one last thing: we came home about 11 (and 'home' in the liberal sense- the city of Orange, and our respective houses) and when I got in my room, I discovered a twin-sized bed- and a sheet, comforter, frame to go w/ and I was really confused and thought cupid sent it, but made it up, and slept more comfortably than in a long time- the sleeping bag on the floor has been it so far-- and this morning, I cooked breakfast (waffles w/ strawberries and whipped cream) for Aaron, and he pointed out a message our friend Ed had left for me- a surprise in my room!  He was gone before me this morning, though, so I've yet to thank this 'cupid.'
