| what police may do |
| 02.22.05 (11:03 am) [edit] |
I was out driving after spending time w/ my family and extended relatives, and we were in southern California (I could tell 'cause of the roads- many dips to prevent speeding) anyways, somehow I ended up running a red, and I saw an officer, so I pulled over, but he drove past, and I got out of my car and waited a few minutes, and this young cop walked up and talked w/ me but I didn't really know what was going on. I ended up going down to the police station, and I guess I wasn't in trouble- they just wanted someone to help time how long it takes to go from a stoplight for a couple blocks. (I personally didn't think I'd be a good candidate, because I usually don't go nearly as fast as the average driver). Anyways, there was a lot of waiting around, and all of the police officers were college/early twenties age, and the main guy had to 'administrative assistants'- annoying, no personal space women. So I'm worried 'cause I was supposed to order or pick up food for the family- at least they weren't going to eat 'til I got there, so I went to use the phone, and I interrupted the closing of a meeting of 40-something adults who seemed more professional than their younger counterparts- and the woman seemed very suspicious of me, but I called a local (714) number. I don't remember getting a hold of anyone, but I do remember an elaborate map that the police had drawn out- it turned out that there were three teams (well, I was by myself) and we each had to go from start to finish in our own section, which were in different parts of town. The girls were complaining that they had to go the furthest from the station, but when I said I was new in town, they laughed at me and were relieved. The map reminded me of a video game (MarioLand?)- lots of crazy thigns, and there was a winding road that looked like a water slide. Then I woke up. It was one dream that probably will never be resolved!

Ha - didn't fool me. I knew you were joking by the first line, because I know you don't have family in Cali. Around the midwest, yes, but not in Cali I believe.

I didn't mean to be tricky- I just wanted to tell it more like a story so it was interesting. And my family is all in the Midwest- the closest 'family'I have around here are my church family, or friends'here in CA or Aaron's family in Oregon.
