INTJ
05.11.05 (5:53 pm)   [edit]

or ISTJ or INFJ or something like that.  According to a version of Jung's personality test, linked to on Hope's page, I am INTJ, with I and J being strong and N and J less so.  What's that mean?  I stands for Introvert, N= iNtuitive, T= Thinking, J=Judging (versus Extrovert, Sensing, Feeling, Perceiving).  This somehow makes me a 'Rational Mastermind,'  and my ways of dealing with life were compared to a game of chess.  I thought I had changed since I took the test in high school, but apparently not, and I've grown more introverted!!  But then again . . . wait!! Shocking news: according to some 'marriage compatibility' thing, where Aaron and I plugged in our letters (ENFP & INTF), we have 'unsatisfactory compatibility.'  AKA we're not enough alike.   I'm pouting, but Aaron assures me that a test like that doesn't factor enough things in, and that it doesn't necessarily spell D-O-O-M for our relationship.

Also, Genreal Ulysses S. Grant , C.S. Lewis, Angela Lansbury and Gandalf the Grey are example of my personality-type.  And I don't think of myself as a perfectionist.

Hmm. well don't put too much stock in it. I took it and it had different results each time. Three different results on three seperate occassions. And I don't dare put too much stock in the compatibilty stuff.

I think you might be ISTJ. who knows?

ISTJ was my first thought for Erin, too!

these things are always silly and incomplete, but can be fun as long as you just take it for what it is. We should be truly defined by Christ, not a quiz or personality test! (which I think is rather self-evident!)

ISTJ - "ISTJs have a need to 'do right' with what they've been given, safeguarding traditions of the family and of the community. They often will take on extra personal responsibilities in order to maintain what they believe is important . . .At work, ISTJs get things done on a timely basis. They honor deadlines, and they believe in thoroughness. A half-finished joy is not a joy well done. They established procedures and schedules, and are uncomfortable with those who do not do the same. ISTJs put duty before pleasure. As long as they can fulfil their responsibilities, they feel useful and thereby satisfied. Their work does not have to be fun, but it has to count toward something productive. ISTJs believe that vacations are something that one takes only when work has been accomplished; thus, at times they do not take vacations even when they could and should . . ." stuff lke that ;)

I actually think you sound like an INFJ. See this link -http://haleonline.com/psychtest/index.php

You're kind of hard to define. You break all the molds, Erin!

That's the wrong link, actually. It should be: http://haleonline.com/psychtest/results.php?EI=I&SN=N&TF=F&JP=J

Although if you take the test on this site, I think it is the most accurate one.

wow- thanks for having so much to say, guys!!
I just wanted to throw out there that Aaron's celebrity-types were Dr. Seuss, Bill Cosby, and Ariel (of the Little Mermaid)- and of course more, but those are the ones I remember- and Hope- the definition you put in does sounds like me a lot, and Chuck- I'll check out those sites some time today. and Aaron- good point out being defined by Christ and no other.

And I think you're exagerrating too much with the 'breaking the molds' bit. Some people may fit strongly in categories, but most people don't- and are only slightly more something than the other. It's always great to figure something more out about a person- how they think, what they mean, what's important to them- I think it's great that humans are so complicated, but finding missing links is great, too.

So I took another personality test, and I came up INTJ again, with ISTJ in a close second. I really had a tough time with the N/S deal. I also found out more definite plans for rent in June, so that scares me.

I always turn up INTP, for what it's worth.

Reply to Dave:
that's interesting. I can see some of those traits in you.
I definitely have some INFJ mixed with the INTJ.
